My original 2003 driver seat’s vinyl upholstery was peeling. It also had a large white gap in the fabric on one side. I was repeatedly taping it up with black guerilla tape (should have used duct tape). The seat was embarrassing. After years of looking for an original Subaru seat to replace the driver’s seat, I finally threw in the towel and resigned myself to some ugly looking seat covers. To my utter delight, these seat covers matched the original Subaru upholstery nicely. They give my car a quality upscale look and, honestly, you can’t tell they’re not part of the original upholstery. Nice!The seat cover is soft and appears to be durable. Bonus, they have two back pockets since they cover the pockets on the back of the original seat. In addition, the seat cover provides a pocket at the front of the seat.INSTALLATION (One person job):Totally disregard the one page installation manual and watch the video. The video is so much easier to follow.As shown in the video, place the entire seat cover over the headrest and down the seat. On my car, it was a tight fit. Beware, the side of the seat cover does not cover everything so the original seat color will be visible. However, since these seat covers perfectly match my car’s upholstery color you can’t tell where the seat cover ends and my original upholstery begins (hand clap).My headrest does not detach but this isn’t a problem. The helpful video addresses how to install the seat cover on a non-detachable headrest. I pulled the headrest up and zipped the top of the seat cover close to the headrest. Then, I pulled the headrest down to cover the zippers.I placed the two chucks on each elastic strap and pushed it through the seat to the other side. Just like the video, I positioned these chucks in place on the back of the front seat. The seller provides spare chucks just in case one breaks.The elastic strap had to go around the sides of the seat. Out of all of the instructions, closing this elastic strap was the hardest. The elastic is barely, and I mean barely, long enough for me to grasp them together to lock them in place. From the back seat, I had to hold one strap and try to locate and hold the other strap to close / lock the two straps. When I finally was able to grasp both straps at the same time, I could not close / lock the clasp. The clasp can only be inserted in one direction - - kind of like an airplane seat buckle. This is a disadvantage. The clasp should close / lock regardless of the direction of the strap. I pulled so hard that I broke one of the elastic straps sewn into the seat cover.This is obviously a problem since the one page paper instructions states: “Attention: If there is any elastic strap broken or lack of fitting accessories, Pls contact us, we will solve it ASAP.”I spent at least an hour tugging on this strap, trying to get it to close and then it BREAKS (Aye Yai Yai). The strap is sewn into the front seam so the whole strap broke loose. Thank goodness there are multiple ways the seat covers are kept in place. Product improvement suggestion: Change to side release buckle clips.The front seat cover will hook on anything that’s underneath the seat. Super easy.After I finished the driver’s side installation, the front seat cover did not look tight on the seat. It appeared there was too much air / room between the seat cover and the seat. After I sat down in the seat, it was fine. The seat cover was flat. I believe that after driving and placing my bottom and back on the seat cover to flatten the thing, it will look tighter on the seat.After practicing on the driver’s seat, the installation on the passenger seat was much easier. 25 minutes and done. Again, most of the time was tugging on the elastic strap so that it was positioned correctly to close / lock them.Overall, I would order these seat covers again.I wasn't sure these seat covers would fit my older sedan, but they do . The seat covers are very soft, look beautiful and with the padding are very comfortable, better than the older, original leather seats. Even the headrest cover is soft and padded.Because the sides are open with 2 elastic strips from front to back, best if you can get matching color: my seats are black leather and the seat covers I ordered were black so it all looks goodI had put some fabric seat covers on another car and had problems getting them on, but this set was a breeze to install.There is a pocket on the front edge and the back piece. The top of the seat has beautiful zippers to put over the headrest if stationary or if you can remove the headrest, you can zip up to the headrest posts.Got these for our ‘14 Sprinter. Our seats had faux leather and were flaking on the seat portion. At least the headrest and armrest were just covers, so I just took those off. These new seat covers were easy to install and fit pretty well. Everything stays in place and doesn’t slide around when you sit. They are comfortable and feel durable. I like the pockets in the front, nice touch. Overall, good fit. I’m not a huge fan of the sides not being covered. I wish they used the thin, stretchy material along with those side straps, kind of like what’s used on the headrest covers. This way, the seats would be completely covered and the same color. So, just keep that in mind when getting these. If your seats are currently a different color than the covers you intend to get, just know that the sides will still show. I knew that it would be this way, but I liked the design and look of them and got them anyways. That’s my only gripe, not a big deal really for me.Hope the pictures help. Really simple install. Seats can still recline and swivel around. No funny smell. Well packaged. Again, nice fitment for our Sprinter. Recommend.we have a 2002 toyota 4 runner and the seat covers fit perfectly. they were an easy install and look great. highly recommend them.
