Watch a YouTube video or two on replacing your steering wheel leather, and if you think you're up for the task then do it! Replaced my 96 Land Cruiser's beat up leather, huge difference in daily feel and comfort while driving. The steering wheel cover looks and feels nice, has the right number of spokes, and is the correct diameter for my 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser. I wish it was a darker brown to match the steering wheel, but the listing pictures are accurate so I knew what it would look like. I don’t blame the seller or manufacturer for the color mismatch. However, the leather that is supposed to fit around the spokes is obviously for a steering wheel with much thicker spokes. If you look at my pictures, especially the third picture, you can clearly see that the leather that wraps around the front face of the steering wheel is 1/2-inch too wide for the top spokes and over 1-inch too wide for the bottom spokes. I initially thought that Amazon or Loncky may have sent the wrong cover, so I returned it. The second cover had the exact same dimension, so the manufacturer is using the wrong pattern for my vehicle.Fortunately, 1) Loncky sends a ton of thread, 2) the cover was actually too big, and 3) I was an upholsterer for a few years many moons ago, so I had the materials and know-how to address this deficiency. I had to very carefully measure and cut off the excess material. Also, the pattern is not quite right, so I had to apply a lot of pressure to stretch the leather to fit. You can see this in the way the perforation spacing is stretched towards the bottom of the top spokes. It’s not noticeable unless you’re looking for it, though.I removed the steering wheel for my convenience. This made stretching the leather more difficult, but continuing factory stitching would have been very difficult otherwise. If you decide to remove your steering wheel, please remember to disconnect the negative cable from your vehicle’s battery first. You do not want to accidentally set off the air bag!It took me about 12 hours over 2 days to complete the installation. I am satisfied with the way it turned out. If I had to do it over, I would purchase this steering wheel cover again, because I can deal with the shortcoming and I like the way the perforated leather looks. However, I would not recommend that anyone with a 2003 Land Cruiser purchase this unless they have some experience working with leather. The item leather quality was good overall looks nice however the pattern cut was larger than needed on two points of the steering wheel the exact same points on the left and the right were larger than needed had to trims about a half inch of leather so that it would be snug around the steering wheel inner circle. Took about 4 1/2 hours to Cut off the old one and saw the new one on and I have a lot of do it yourself skills with sewing and everything else. Not that it’s super hard to so it just takes a long time to get the really long thread through each stitch without tangling the thread.5 STARS for the finished installed product. It looks and smells and feels amazing, especially for the price.3 STARS for the fit. Install is tedious enough. Took me about 3 hours. This particular pattern cut fits many different Toyota/Lexus models, as you can see in the description, and it isn't a perfect for the type of wheel I have. I had to trim a little and tuck a little of the extra material.Overall, I'm happy with it now that it's done, but it was definitely a PITA. Watch some Youtube vids before you start to choose your stitch pattern. I single stitched the ends and corners and double stitched (every other loop) along the runs.Good quality wheel cover. Feels great when installed. Very snug fit. And they provide double the amount of thread you actually need to do this. I probably didn’t do enough stretching so i couldn’t get all the ends to tuck away and there are a few wrinkles. Still a million times better than what the wheel was before this. I had never done any sewing in my life until this project and i think the stitching is pretty decent. Took me about 3-4 hours. Take your time, if you want it perfect I’d pay a professional to do it. Otherwise pretty doable if you just need to cover an old crusty wheel and don’t care too much. Removing the airbag helped a lot, never took the wheel all the way off just started the car and turned the wheel as needed. This cover is awesome and looks clean compared to other cheap/universal options out there. If you spend the time doing it right, your steering wheel can look like it came out of the factory with this cover on. Some tips:- TAKE YOUR TIME. Seriously, this is going to take awhile to fit, line up and thread all the way around. It sucks at times and it took me about 3 hours broken up into two sessions to complete. You will catch the thread on knobs, shifters and get knots, etc. pulling the thread through each time. You may even have to cut the thread and start again in parts. But take your time to avoid this.- Give yourself plenty of slack for each run/section you are threading. There is a ton of thread that comes with this kit, don't be stingy and run out halfway through the section you're doing.- Start with a shorter length section to start threading so you can get the hang of it and/or cover any mistakes you make learning how to do it properly.- TAKE YOUR TIME.- Reward yourself with a beer.Instructions are very confusing. Depending on car and interior, its difficult to sew in place. best bet is to remove steering wheel so you and work at different angles. if you have the ability to buy a whole replacement that already covered I would suggest that over the time and frustration of installing this.Good feeling on the hands. PU leather is stretchable but mine was a bit tight and couldn't close the gap well. Could've used an extra mm or so. Which led to pulling thread tighter than needed and causing it snap 4 to 5 times. Make sure to plan ahead as this will take a couple of days (maybe 3-4hours total) to complete
